Community is Built on Individuals

"The Show goes on". Yes, even in the middle of a pandemic the event industry rose to the occasion in 2021. Hopin has crafted this brilliant 2022 event trends list where they dived into thought-provoking questions around the future of our industry. I am thrilled to be amongst the industry's most esteemed thought-leaders where I discuss our approach to community.

Here are a few key points I have shared, and I would love to hear how you are addressing the needs of your community in your business and/ or events?

- Think of community as what comes first as it is what drives our business and events.

- Don't think of community as only a whole. Remember to consider each person who makes up the space. I like to think of this as sub-communities. How can we dissect our initiatives to meet demands and drive our business/events?

- Temperature check. Pay attention to behaviors. Things are constantly changing and you must keep up whenever necessary to attend to changes. Be sure to monitor to avoid people tapping out.

- When you "tap in" and your community recognizes you are supporting them, then there is no stopping their engagement and their drive to support your business.

Be sure to check out all the trends in this report - my favs (but not limited to) include Sponsorship ROI, micro-events to evoke emotion, and rethinking A/V. Check out the full report here https://hopin.com/blog/2022-event-trends
